Hey guys, if you are looking for a recommendation on where to eat at Taichung, you’ve come to the right place! Yes, this is our 3rd time exploring this beautiful part of Taiwan (to be honest, our favourite part of Taiwan too hehe!) and we are always on the hunt for the best food in town.

We promise that you will not be disappointed if you head over to 老三良面 and try out the cold noodles they have to offer. You may have heard of traditional 凉面 (cold noodles) in Taiwan and this shop presents Taiwan’s traditional cold noodles with an array of new flavours: cheese, kimchi, curry etc. The modern twist to the cold noodles definitely attracted both locals and tourists to try out the new exciting flavours! Seriously though, we were at the shop at about 10:40AM and thought that we were way too early because they only open at 11AM, BUT there were already locals waiting to get in. Additionally, 老三良面 also does delivery so bear in mind that they may sell out on popular flavours super fast!
After the 20 minutes wait on a hot summer day, was the noodles worth it?! YASS! We got one traditional flavour with additional kimchi and another one with cheese. Believe us when we say these noodles tasted so refreshing! The sauce may not look like much but it was fragrant. I was literally trying to figure out like what was in the sauce (because it was SO good??) but I couldn’t ok. I am pretty sure it is some secret recipe that I can’t replicate back here in Singapore :( Oh yes, the noodles that 老三良面 use are 荞麦面 (buckwheat noodles) so it’s super healthy too! In addition they also have other noodle options like 拉面 (ramen) and 鸳鸯细面 (mix of ramen and buckwheat noodles). And guys, the noodles were super WORTH IT! The ones we ordered, as seen in the photos, are considered small bowl and they have a larger option. The small bowl really filled up our tummy to max capacity and it was just 50 NTD (yes, that’s approximately 2.50 SGD)!

Last but not least, DO NOT WORRY if you are also there on a hot summer day like us because the place is fully air conditioned like a mini cafe style. So you can really just sit and chill with your refreshing bowl of noodles and take sips of black tea. Also, if you would like to know, they also got promoted on Taiwan travel show: 食尚玩家!
